Debutant Veer Pahariya is gearing up to portray a character based on Squadron Leader Ajjamada B. Devayya in the highly anticipated film Sky Force alongside Akshay Kumar. Produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, the film is all set to release this Republic week – 24th January.

Veer Pahariya met Squadron Leader Ajjamada B. Devayya’s family

The actor recently had an emotional meeting with the war hero’s family in Bengaluru. He shared heartfelt moments from his interaction with Mrs. Sundari Devayya, the 90-year-old wife of the late Squadron Leader, and their daughters, Smitha and Preetha, on his Instagram.

“For the past 3 and a half years, I have immersed myself in learning about the life and heroism of this extraordinary man while preparing for my role as ‘Tabby’ in Sky Force. I thought I understood his bravery and sacrifice, but today, hearing anecdotes from his family—the people who knew him, loved him, and continue to honour his memory—left me deeply moved and humbled,” Veer wrote.

During the meeting, Veer was profoundly touched by Mrs. Sundari Devayya’s quiet strength and enduring love for her husband, as well as the pride and warmth with which their daughters shared stories of the late Squadron Leader. “Even at 90, she shares a love with her hero that transcends time—a testament to the unshakable bond they shared,” he noted.

Squadron Leader Devayya, fondly remembered as ‘Wings of Fire,’ made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. His bravery in the skies remains a source of inspiration for countless Indians. Veer admitted that the meeting left him in tears, overwhelmed by the family’s resilience and immense pride in their father’s legacy.

Veer Pahariya expressed his gratitude to Squadron Leader Ajjamada B. Devayya’s family, saying, “Their blessings mean everything to me. I hope to make them and every single Indian proud with Sky Force.” Sky Force, based on the true story of Squadron Leader Devayya, promises to be a tribute to one of India’s most remarkable war heroes.
